<twitterhappenings> + top 5 Must Follows.

Last weekend I did a very large purge of my twitter stream. I went from following 4,000 to 0 in about 5 minutes using this handy little tool.

I’ve slowly started re-following people, up to about 750 now. It’ll take time to check everyone out, because believe it or not, I check their stream and usually their website too before I decide to follow or not.

Anyways….the reason for this little post was that I was asked by two fantastic ladies via twitter @madysondesigns & @fontburger a to compile my ‘Must Follow’ - only 5 people.

So here is my list! Who & What they are doing + Why they are my top 5.

Who: Nick Bilton

What: Lead Technology Writer, The New York Times, Bits Blog. NYU/ITP Adjunct Professor.

Why: I watch for his tweets. I get most current tech info from him but if you check out his stream, he seems like a real normal guy <yes it happens sometimes>. I really do enjoy the diversity of his tweets.

Who: James White

What: (aka SignalNoiseArt) Visual artist and designer who enjoys video games, heavy metal, comics and the color spectrum.

Why: James is an amazing artist, my favorite parts of his twitter stream are when he is sharing and capturing his process from sketch all the way to finished product. Oh and I’ve met him too and he is an awesome stand up dude. Beers all around, perhaps a ‘Stella’?

Who: Nandoism

What: New York City based dating/relationship blogger and web personality—conquering the world—one sexy blog and video at a time.

Why: This guy simply kicks ass. He is funny and very very honest. Trust me I’ve met him. You’ll have to follow him for the rest, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Who: Mike Rundle

What: (aka flyosity) Designing & building stuff for the web, Mac, iPhone & iPad. UI Architect @ Bronto Software. Author of Beak, a Twitter app. iPhone aficionado. Dog lover.

Why: He seems like a chill guy who likes to build cool things and have fun at it. I enjoy that. He enjoys it so much that now I want to build an app with him. You’ll get really diverse tweets from Mike, from development/coding, iphone, and design.
