      Yes, AeroPress makes amazing coffee.

Since returning from my trip to Italy, coffee (or espresso) has not tasted the same. While I was there my daily drink of choice was a Cafe’ Macchiato (espresso with a little milk and amazing foam). In the states, they make a Macchiato a bit differently, espresso with just foam).

I was an every day drinker of Starbucks because it was easy and let’s be honest, I’m not a morning person…so to make a cup of good coffee before I am awake is really hard.

Until I met the AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker.

(I know, looks weird but trust me, it’s awesome)

      Pros:

      • Amazing coffee in under 60 seconds
      • Cheap
      • Easy cleanup
      • No grittiness like my french press
      • Smooth taste
      • Light & compact, easy to travel with (bonus points for me on that)

      Cons:

      • If you’re looking for real Espresso, it won’t produce nice froth but will make a really strong ‘Espresso like’ cup of coffee.

Everyone is different but I’ve included my process for making a great strong cup!

      • Rinse the paper filter with hot water
      • 2 scoops of Illy (scoop from the kit) *I used Illy’s espresso dark blend (fine grind) and plan to experiment with Lavazza. I enjoy both brands of beans.
      • 180 degree water
      • fill water to #3
      • stir vigorously for 10 seconds
      • press down slowly until you hear air (about 8 seconds)
      • drink/repeat! Add more hot water if it’s too strong for your taste.

If you are absolutely against using paper filters (after rinsing, I couldn’t taste the filter), check out this Coava Disk.

      Buy it from Amazon.

*Disclosure: Affliate link used. Hey, I can buy some good beans with that!
